The staff has a diversity of experience and specializations covering a wide range of microscopic imaging techniques for both biological and non-biological specimens. The staff oversees all equipment maintenance and instruction including undergraduate and graduate level courses in Microscopy Theory, TEM, SEM, Light Microscopy, Confocal Microscopy, and Analytical Microscopy. The facility is accessible to qualified users 24 hours a day, and 7-days a week.
is also an Instructor in Botany, Adjunct Associate Professor of Microbiology, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Zoology at Miami University. His interests center on all aspects of microscopy and ultrastructural imaging, including light microscopy (LM), transmission and scanning electron microscopy (TEM & SEM), and scanning probe microscopies (SPM, STM, & AFM). In addition to conventional specimen preparation and imaging techniques, his work involves (1) developing and studying cryo-preservation techniques for biological specimens and (2) developing a high resolution digital imaging and analysis network within the Electron Microscopy Facility.|
